Where did the boxes go?

During my holiday I made several boxes and not al of them have found their destiny at the moment but some have...

Some bags and small boxes found a place in the bedroom of my second house.

Update on the country shop

For a long time I did not do much with regards to miniatures. But after my holiday I came back al inspired. And having collected some egg boxes I could finaly finish the outside wall of the country shop. As you can see the walls are old and need some repointing, but they are stable.

Now I can start to rummage trough the boxes, to find the items I collected. Most were stored together in a box but I do miss some items so I'll have to start rummaging. And of course I need to make and pimp items so it will keep me going for a while.

Inside I need to hang the shelfs on the wall and fill them.

The items on the table look quit nice together... I wonder if I will change a lot.

Give away won

I've just received the message that I have won this lovely give away, how lucky i feel. Now I will wait (im)patiently for the mail every day!!

Quiltshop

I've just made some little changes to my quiltshop and decided that it was time to share some pictures.

The name of the shop is "steekje los" which in dutch has different meanings, it not only means 'loose stitch' but also 'little crazy'. Which I thought is a nice name for the shop. On the inside you find everything you need for making quilts, knitting or embroidery.

The little "Tilda" style doll I made some weeks ago is sitting on top of a cupboard. Maybe she will inspire visitors that they can make such a lovely doll.

Not only can you buy the regular patchwork fabrics but they also sell special fabrics which support the fight against breastcancer.

And for the quilters who start early, there is a nice selection of christmas fabrics.

On the counter you can just about make out the tine needle box I bought at the fair. Sorry that I can't get a better picture of that. Behind the counter it is still a mess....

If you look for inspiration, lots of magazines to choose from... And the embroidery kits are nicely organised. Maybe you prefer knitting, there are so many colors or different treads to choose from, cotton, wool...

The shopkeeper just checks if the knitware on diplay looks ok. From where she stands this is the view of the shop.

shopping in Paris

When I was Paris a few weeks ago I did visit several dolls house shops and the fair. And close to the camping there was a car boot sale aswell were i found a few items at the end of the day. Especially the fair I liked a lot and bought some nice items for different projects. I place everything on a tray and put it on the table so I can enjoy it. Today I want to place everything in the different houses and projects. Some items will go in a box since the project, like the country shop, is not ready to put everything in it.

The flowerpots have some small holes around the rim but once I put some flowers in them that will hardly be visible. They were cheaper than the perfect ones ;-) Not everything is very clear in the picture, but at least you got an impression.

Holiday

It has been a while since I wrote a message here. But having computer problems and being on holiday had to be blamed for that. But now I'm back, my computer is not functioning properly, it is old and slow and can't cope with much information.... I have to invest in a new one but this will take a while.

In case you wonder were I went for my holiday... This is one of the things I saw, do you recognize it? Yes it is the Sacre coeur in Paris. I was very lucky since there was a market where I could tast al kind of delicious foods and of course I visited the shop of Lea Frisoni... I love her book and the delicate minitures she makes inspire me every time. In the area are a lot of shops with fabric as well and I bought some Toile de jouy fabric to make in a quilt (1:1). Very close to Paris is the small village of Jouy en Josas where I visited a museum about Toile de Jouy fabric. So interesting to learn more about the fabrics that have attracted me for a long time.

I did not only visit shops and markets but also spend some time making stuff. I took with me some kits, mostly from priegelwerk . But some others as well. The little mouse is from a kit by Shirley Scheibehenne, it wasn't easy to make because it is so small and it made my fingers hurt but I do love it. The kit contained two more stuffed animals I can make, but that will have to wait. It is not my favorite work, but the result is good.

Now I have so many boxes, I have to decide where to put them.

Frustrated that I can't leave comments

At the moment I am frustrated that I can't leave comments on other blogs. Hope that it is solved very soon.

I have made some miniatures for a friends birthday but stupidly I did not make a picture... However I also made some fruit and did remember to make a photograph of it.

So healthy eating can start in my doll house world.

Welcome new followers

Due to the good weather I spend more time in the garden and working on a quilt (1:1) then behind the computer and so I did not update my blog for a while and when I tried to update I couldn't due to a computerproblem. So today another chance. There are several new followers, so welcome Susi, Nuria, Marit, Ana, Drora, Rosamargarita, Pilar Garcia and Carmen.

Outside the quiltshop of Petra Prins in Zutphen a quilt hangs on a stand with these colors but naturally in 1:1 scale, I decided some time ago to make a lap quilt in similar colors but in 1:12 scale. On the photo the mistakes are more clear than in reallity.

The last tulips in the garden. Due to the warm weather the plants are bursting out of the ground. For easter I visited family and did not see the garden for 4 days, it looked completely different when I came back. So many flowers, it is so full of colour. I just want te let you share in these colors.

Aquilegia, I love these plants and every year it is a surprise where they come up and what colour they are.

One day I will make these plants in miniature!

Give away won!!

Today I received the give away from Rosa Maria from Spain. It is so beautifull and delicate! Just incredible! Now starts the hard part where do I place these delicate items so that I can admire them everytime.... this will take some thinking...

Hope to show these lovely gifts soon in their new place. At the moment I move them around to see where they fit best.

My Easterbunny is having a garage sale. Over the years she collected several things and decided it is time to clean up. So in a glass egg she puts everything together and waits for customers.

Today I just made a few books and 2 small clocks for the bedroom. The workshop for the clock I found on the internet. Two of the books are from Papermini the others I found on a dutch site. Just a few hours work and I have books I can read and two clocks like I used to have before modern alarmclocks were available. I've made the clocks from paper, some metal parts and sewing pins.

Now I just have to decide in which room I put the books and clocks. I will probably make some more clocks in different colours. The clocks look a bit old and battered but I quite like them.

Another basket

Just finished another basket, this is addictive.... It is not as fine as the first one but due to the colored tread the effect is quite charming.

Just to see the difference between the two baskets, I've placed them next to eachother.

Another workshop

Yesterday I followed a workshop from Gabriëlle, wicker a basket. It was lovely! I really enjoyed it and am afraid that I will make more baskets in the future....
I had hardly finished or one of the dolls decided to take the basket for some shopping. As far as I can see, she is quite enjoying it.

Some hair

Finally one of my dolls has hair, she has been waiting for a long time te get some hair. Therefor she didn't want to be included in a photograph. Now she doesn't mind if I take a picture, maybe she doesn't even notice since she is so busy with her lace making.

Her husband and a friend are enjoying a game of chess.

details of the quilt exposition

Like in a real quiltexhibition you will find a stand with fabric and books for the enthousiast. Will she buy a ready to quilt panel?

This lady might go for one of the books on patchwork and quilting. There is enough choice, 3 boxes full of books....

Eventhough there are signs (in dutch) not to touch the quilts there are always some people who can't resist the urge....

Having builders in, not in my real house but in my miniature world... actually the only builder in, is me in my old cloths.

Last year I bought a second hand shop in a sale. I thought it perfect for a country style shop. At home I started to put in all the little things I had collected over time... and soon discovered that I had a lot of outdoor items.... and the shop was not exactly large. So I hesitated a long time but now finally I decided it was time to build a terras along the shop for all the outdoor stuff. After removing one of the large windows I opened the wall for the french doors.

On the terras area there is space for all the outdoor items

Inside is more room for all the small items I have collected over time and for items I will make

Once I have finished rebuilding, I can hang all the shelves and start filling the shop

Now with the new space I have more room to display all the items I already collected over time. So just to see how it might look like, I displayed some of it and made some photographs, sorry for the poor quality of those.

For the coming time I will have to eat loads off eggs since the bricks to cover the outside of the shop are made from eggboxes.....
