Dit jaar mag ik mijn miniatuur quilttentoonstelling en de handwerkwinkel "Steekje Los" laten zien in het dorpshuis in Zandeweer tijdens het Quiltfestival in Noord Groningen, Nederland, op 8, 9 en 10 Juni 2012. Voor meer informatie over het festival ga naar de website .

This year my miniature quiltexhibition and the shop "steekje los" will be on show on 8,9 and 10 June 2012 at the Quiltshow in the north of Groningen, the Netherlands. For more information check  quiltfestival . My two entries will be on show in Zandeweer.

Een nieuwe bakfiets A new bike for an old shop

Dit soort fietsen zie je tegenwoordig best vaak in Nederland. Soms met kinderen erin. De bakfiets is gemaakt van blikjes waarschijnlijk ergens in Afrika. Het is een mooie aanvulling voor de fietsenwinkel.

These bikes you see a lot in the cities in the Netherlands. Sometimes young parents transport their children in them. Made abroad, this bicycle made of metal from a spraycan is a nice addition for the bicycle shop.

Binnenin de winkel, verschillende fietsen, stadsfietsen, mountainbikes en zelfs een tandem.

The whole shop, there are a lot of different bikes.

De winkeleigenaar is lelijk gevallen en heeft zijn arm bezeerd dus nu moet hij zijn arm in een sling.
The shopkeeper has an injured arm so he uses a sling.

Achter in de winkel is een kleine werkplaats met een klein zoldertje voor opslag van voorraad.
In the back of the shop there is an area for repairing bicycles. And some storage for boxes with goods for the shop.

De bloemenkiosk A little shop full in bloom

Een paar jaar geleden heb ik deze bloemenkiosk gemaakt voor een wedstrijd van het blad P&M. De glazen kiosk is eigenlijk om echt plantjes in te zetten, maar met een trapje en een bodem is het een hele leuke plek voor snijbloemen. De bloemen zijn van papier. De anjers staan bij de ingang.
Some years ago I made this little flowers kiosk for a contest in the Netherlands. It is inside a glasshouse used for 1:1 plants.  Almost all the flowers are made from paper.
The new carnations are just near the entrance.

Welcome new followers

Again I can welcome new followers. So Welcome Keli, Alexandra, Blanca, Madelaine, Vicky, Amica, Linda, Mariana Belmonte, Willie and Klara, hope you'll like following my blog.

The carnations are a kit from Trompke, it was nice work to make these flowers and the result is worth it. The bucket is not full so I can make some more and add them later. The bucket found a place in the flowershop from "Groene vingers".

Inpakpapier Wrapping paper

Om pakjes in te kunnen pakken is natuurlijk inpakpapier nodig, en een stander om de rollen in te hangen. In de DHN 84 stond hoe je zo'n stander kunt maken, het was een beetje te glimmend...

To pack the gifts in a shop, a shopkeeper needs a stand for wrapping paper. Some time ago I started making one. The instructions how to make one, you can find in a dutch magazine DHN issue 84. It did not look bad but it was a little shiny, which I didn't like. Here it stand in front of some other unfinished items.

After I painted it, it looked better.

In de winkel, Varkenssnuitje, ziet het er mooi uit.
Now it stands in the country shop and it looks nice.

Groene Vingers

Today I made some pictures of a shop I made a few years ago. It is called "Groene Vingers", green fingers and had two parts, a plant shop and a flower kiosk. This time only pictures of the plant shop.

 

In front of the shop you'll find all kind of plants for the garden as well as fertilizer and compost.
Inside there is a large selection of seeds and bulbs.

The display can turn and on all sides there are packets of seeds.

But if you need a nice vase, books or something to keep the aphids at bay you will probably find something here.

At the till you find some nice butterfly decorations to add to a flowerpot. Or maybe you like the Hyacints?

Or maybe an orchid, there are different types and colors.

In front of the shop there even is a large goldfish in an old container.

Nieuwe planten New flowers

De laatste tijd heb ik weinig tijd gehad om te knutselen. Maar afgelopen weekend heb een een paar 'kits' om plantjes te maken afgemaakt. Vandaag bij de knutselclub heb ik 2 potjes gevuld met de plantjes.

Lately I have been visiting family and friends a lot. So not spending time building or making anything for my dollshouses. But the last weekend I took some kits for flowers and started to make them. Today at the club I finished two pots of spring flowers.

De narcis is een pakketje van Little goodies, een pakketje dat ik jaren geleden al een keer ergens kocht. Het bloempotje kocht ik al gebroken op een beurs, maar het geeft wel een beetje extra realisme door dat kapotte hoekje.

Beide potjes staan nu voor de bloemenwinkel "Groene Vingers".

The Daffodil is a kit from Little goodies, I bought this kit many years ago. The flower pot I bought at a fair, it was already broken. It just adds a little reality.

Both pots stand in front of the shop Groene vingers, the plant shop.

Varkenssnuitje, Een nieuw winkeltje the new shop

Al een tijdje heb ik gewerkt aan een nieuw winkeltje. De buitenkant was al een tijdje klaar maar voor de inrichting vond ik geen tijd. Gelukkig kon ik de laatste paar dagen lekker aan de gang, het is nog niet helemaal klaar maar de eerste foto's wil ik toch even delen. Het winkeltje heet Varkenssnuitje, geinspireerd door het Whiskey merk Pig's nose. Het is een winkeltje gevuld met spullen voor een country living gevoel, dus servies, tuinspullen, linnengoed en wat decoratieve spullen.

For some time I have been working on a new shop. I finished the outside some time ago but didn't find the time to work on the inside. However the last couple of days I started to fill the shop, I'm not ready but I want to share some pictures. The shop will be called "Varkenssnuitje", the name was inspired by a whiskeybrand, Pig's nose. I wanted to call the shop "Vrolijke varkens", Happy pigs, but I liked "Varkenssnuitje" more. It is a shop filled with things you need for countryliving. Pottery, linnen, kitchenware and garden items.

De shaker dozen heb ik gemaakt volgens de instructies op de blog van Wil Leusink. Veel van de accessoires heb ik zelf gemaakt net als veel van het boerenbont, maar ik heb ook spulletjes gekocht. 
The shaker boxes I made using the instructions on the blog of Wil Leusink. A lot of accessoires in country style and a large collection of "Boerenbont" a decoration of stylized flowers on white pottery. Some of the pieces I decorated myself but I also bought a lot.

Natuurlijk hebben mensen die buiten wonen ook schoeisel nodig voor buiten. Dus hier worden ook laarzen en klompen verkocht. Zelfs grappige kinderlaarsjes vind je hier.
Of course people need footware suitable for the countryside and the garden, so here you find wellies and clogs. Not only for adults but for children as well.

Buiten is een terras met veel decoratie voor in de tuin en zelfs potten met geraniums en hortensias.

Outside there is a courtyard with pots and plants and other items..

Dit project is nog niet klaar dus er komen nog spulletjes bij.
This project is not finished, at the moment some items I made are drying on the desk. So hopefully soon I will add more items. I still have many ideas but do not know if the space inside and outside is big enough for all the items I would like to add.

Een stander voor een quilten The quilt stand in use

Twee weken geleden kreeg ik een quiltstander van een vriendin, een andere vriendin maakte een quiltje. Het vormt een mooi geheel voor de winkel "Steekje los".

Two weeks ago I received a quiltstand from one of my friends and another friend made a quilt. They look very good in front of the shop "Steekje los".

Nu is het gemakkelijker om nieuwe quilts te laten zien. Binnen vond ik een plekje voor de quiltring op stander.

Now it is much easier for the shopkeeper to show the new quilts... Inside I found a nice space for the quiltring.
