Mandjes vlechten.... Making baskets

Afgelopen dagen weer eens met een mandje aan de gang geweest en het was zo leuk dat ik gelijk maar 3 verschillende mandjes heb gemaakt.

Over het flessenmandje ben ik niet helemaal tevreden, er passen twee flessen in maar het zit een beetje strak, dus dat mandje moet ik nog een keer maken. En aan het mandje voor de vis moet nog een leren riem.

Maar voorlopig vinden deze mandjes wel een plekje in mijn countryshop.

Een tijd geleden heb ik op een blog een tutorial van een hele mooie ronde mand gezien, met een bolle bodem. Die zou ik graag willen maken maar helaas kan ik de tutorial niet terugvinden. Als iemand het weet waar dat stond, zou ik een berichtje heel fijn vinden.

Give away won

This weekend I received a very nice give away from Karin, a real dutch give away....
Dit weekend ontving ik een hele leuke give away van Karin, een echte nederlandse give away...

Two pillows from dutch post bags, a wind mill, a birdhouse, cheese and some nice cloggs.
Twee kussens van postzakken, een windmolentje, een heel schattig zaans vogelhuisje, kaas en een paar vrolijke klompen.

Most of the gifts found a place in my country shop, the cheese will end up in a kitchen.
De meeste cadeaus vinden een plekje in de 'country' winkel, en de kaas zal een plekje vinden in een keuken.

Varkenssnuitje, Een nieuw winkeltje the new shop

Al een tijdje heb ik gewerkt aan een nieuw winkeltje. De buitenkant was al een tijdje klaar maar voor de inrichting vond ik geen tijd. Gelukkig kon ik de laatste paar dagen lekker aan de gang, het is nog niet helemaal klaar maar de eerste foto's wil ik toch even delen. Het winkeltje heet Varkenssnuitje, geinspireerd door het Whiskey merk Pig's nose. Het is een winkeltje gevuld met spullen voor een country living gevoel, dus servies, tuinspullen, linnengoed en wat decoratieve spullen.

For some time I have been working on a new shop. I finished the outside some time ago but didn't find the time to work on the inside. However the last couple of days I started to fill the shop, I'm not ready but I want to share some pictures. The shop will be called "Varkenssnuitje", the name was inspired by a whiskeybrand, Pig's nose. I wanted to call the shop "Vrolijke varkens", Happy pigs, but I liked "Varkenssnuitje" more. It is a shop filled with things you need for countryliving. Pottery, linnen, kitchenware and garden items.

De shaker dozen heb ik gemaakt volgens de instructies op de blog van Wil Leusink. Veel van de accessoires heb ik zelf gemaakt net als veel van het boerenbont, maar ik heb ook spulletjes gekocht. 
The shaker boxes I made using the instructions on the blog of Wil Leusink. A lot of accessoires in country style and a large collection of "Boerenbont" a decoration of stylized flowers on white pottery. Some of the pieces I decorated myself but I also bought a lot.

Natuurlijk hebben mensen die buiten wonen ook schoeisel nodig voor buiten. Dus hier worden ook laarzen en klompen verkocht. Zelfs grappige kinderlaarsjes vind je hier.
Of course people need footware suitable for the countryside and the garden, so here you find wellies and clogs. Not only for adults but for children as well.

Buiten is een terras met veel decoratie voor in de tuin en zelfs potten met geraniums en hortensias.

Outside there is a courtyard with pots and plants and other items..

Dit project is nog niet klaar dus er komen nog spulletjes bij.
This project is not finished, at the moment some items I made are drying on the desk. So hopefully soon I will add more items. I still have many ideas but do not know if the space inside and outside is big enough for all the items I would like to add.

Update on the country shop

For a long time I did not do much with regards to miniatures. But after my holiday I came back al inspired. And having collected some egg boxes I could finaly finish the outside wall of the country shop. As you can see the walls are old and need some repointing, but they are stable.

Now I can start to rummage trough the boxes, to find the items I collected. Most were stored together in a box but I do miss some items so I'll have to start rummaging. And of course I need to make and pimp items so it will keep me going for a while.

Inside I need to hang the shelfs on the wall and fill them.

The items on the table look quit nice together... I wonder if I will change a lot.

Having builders in....

Having builders in, not in my real house but in my miniature world... actually the only builder in, is me in my old cloths.

Last year I bought a second hand shop in a sale. I thought it perfect for a country style shop. At home I started to put in all the little things I had collected over time... and soon discovered that I had a lot of outdoor items.... and the shop was not exactly large. So I hesitated a long time but now finally I decided it was time to build a terras along the shop for all the outdoor stuff. After removing one of the large windows I opened the wall for the french doors.

Inside is more room for all the small items I have collected over time and for items I will make

Once I have finished rebuilding, I can hang all the shelves and start filling the shop

Now with the new space I have more room to display all the items I already collected over time. So just to see how it might look like, I displayed some of it and made some photographs, sorry for the poor quality of those.

For the coming time I will have to eat loads off eggs since the bricks to cover the outside of the shop are made from eggboxes.....
