Het is tijd voor een mooie wandeling. Dus de verrekijker pakken en misschien zijn er nog een paar mooie vogels te zien.
Time for a walk, so take the binoculars and maybe there are some beautiful birds so take the bird books aswell.

De vogelboekjes niet vergeten...

Bij Annelies de Kort heb ik weer een leuke workshop van Wim van Soest gevolgd, deze keer een mooie verrekijker tas gemaakt van leer. De verrekijker past perfect in de tas. En de tas, van leer, kan open en dicht.

Yesterday at the house of Annelies de Kort I went to a great workshop from Wim van Soest. This time I made a leather case for binoculars.

Een stephanotis A stephanotis

Today I made a nice stephanotis. There was a workshop in the dutch magazine DHN number 6. When I saw the workshop years ago I wanted to make one but up till today I never did.

Vandaag heb ik een mooie stephanotis gemaakt. Het workshopje staat in de DHN nummer 6. Toen ik het workshopje in 2004 zag wilde ik deze plant al maken, maar tot vandaag kwam er niets van. Ik kan me herinneren dat deze plant vroeger thuis in de vensterbank stond en er soms druppels nectar aan de bloemen hing. Soms kwamen er mieren op af.

Leuke doosjes Some sweet boxes

Vandaag heb ik een paar doosjes gemaakt van perkamentpapier. Heel leuk werk maar wel een gepriegel om ze dicht te vouwen. Er staat een klein engeltje op en de zijkanten zijn versiert met stipjes en krullen. Bovenop zet ik waarschijnlijk nog een strikje van zijde lint

Today I made some small sweet looking boxes. They are made from velum (not sure if it is the right english name). It was fiddly to close them. All boxes are decorated with a tiny picture of an Angel and some dots and swirls. I might add a small piece of silk ribbon for a nice finish.

De laatste tijd heb ik niets gepost, ik was lekker bezig met mij 1:1 quilts. Maar een paar dagen geleden heb ik twee doosjes gemaakt. Ik had ze gekregen van Priegelwerk, een leuk winkeltje dat helaas niet meer open is. 
En een paar weken geleden heb ik een wanddecoratie gemaakt, het idee is van Andrea, versiert met bloemen en vlinders. Ik weet nog niet waar ik het op ga hangen dus ik berg het eerst even voorzichtig op tot ik een mooi plekje bedacht heb.

Lately I haven't posted anything. I was just enjoying working on my 1:1 scale quilts. But I managed to make these romantic boxes. They were from a gift from Priegelwerk, a webshop that does not exist anymore.
And a few weeks ago I made a wall decoration with our group. I do not know were it will hang so I store it carefully for the time being.

Een paar kussens Just making some pillows

Vandaag heb ik een paar kussens gemaakt, gewoon een klein knutseltje. Maar een bank lijkt gelijk gezelliger met een paar kussentjes erop.
Today I just made some pillows. Just a small job. A sofa looks even more welcoming with a few pillows.

Genieten van taart zonder dik te worden Enjoying cake without worrying about my weight

Vandaag hebben we in het knutselgroepje een paar taarten en donuts gemaakt van fimo. Dus taartjes waar je van kunt genieten zonder er dik van te worden en ze blijven nog eindeloos goed ook! Donuts en mokkataart vind ik niet lekker dus die laat ik gemakkelijk staan maar een chocolade taart dat kost meer moeite. Door de warmte begon het glazuur op de donuts er een beetje vanaf te lopen maar het geeft wel een realistisch effect.
Today we made some cakes and donuts from fimo. So it is easy to enjoy these cakes and not worry about weight problems, eventhough they look delicious. The donuts I do not like to eat, so no temptation there, but the cake looks tasty. Because it was a warm day the icing started to run a little but it looks very realistic I think.

 

Een krantenmand Another basket

Vandaag heb ik een mand gemaakt voor tijdschriften, geinspireerd door een artikel in de DHN 39. Het midden van de mand is niet zo mooi maar als er wat tijdschriften op liggen zie je daar niets meer van. De mand heeft een mooi plekje in het huis boven de wereldwinkel gekregen.
Today I made a basket, I was inspired by an article in the dutch magazine DHN 39. The middle of the basket is not so nice but with some newspapers in it, you can't see it.

Inpakpapier Wrapping paper

Om pakjes in te kunnen pakken is natuurlijk inpakpapier nodig, en een stander om de rollen in te hangen. In de DHN 84 stond hoe je zo'n stander kunt maken, het was een beetje te glimmend...

To pack the gifts in a shop, a shopkeeper needs a stand for wrapping paper. Some time ago I started making one. The instructions how to make one, you can find in a dutch magazine DHN issue 84. It did not look bad but it was a little shiny, which I didn't like. Here it stand in front of some other unfinished items.

Nieuwe planten New flowers

De laatste tijd heb ik weinig tijd gehad om te knutselen. Maar afgelopen weekend heb een een paar 'kits' om plantjes te maken afgemaakt. Vandaag bij de knutselclub heb ik 2 potjes gevuld met de plantjes.

Lately I have been visiting family and friends a lot. So not spending time building or making anything for my dollshouses. But the last weekend I took some kits for flowers and started to make them. Today at the club I finished two pots of spring flowers.

De narcis is een pakketje van Little goodies, een pakketje dat ik jaren geleden al een keer ergens kocht. Het bloempotje kocht ik al gebroken op een beurs, maar het geeft wel een beetje extra realisme door dat kapotte hoekje.

Beide potjes staan nu voor de bloemenwinkel "Groene Vingers".

The Daffodil is a kit from Little goodies, I bought this kit many years ago. The flower pot I bought at a fair, it was already broken. It just adds a little reality.

Both pots stand in front of the shop Groene vingers, the plant shop.

Knutselen tijdens de kerst Busy during christmas

Tijdens de kerst ben ik lekker alleen thuis en kan heerlijk knutselen. Het ondergoed is afgemaakt met een klein randje kant of een mooi lintje

During Christmas I was home alone, so time to time to finish some little things. First of all some underwear I started to make a long time ago. I just had to finish it by adding the lace.

De kleine koffer had nog geen handvat, de shaker dozen moesten nog gelijmd worden en de plantenbakken heb ik gemaakt voor de country shop. De foto's zijn niet perfect maar het geeft toch een idee.

The little suitcase needed a handle, the shakerboxes had to be glued and the planters are made for the countryshop. It was nice to finally finish some projects, especially the ones that were left for such a long time. The light is not good enough for pictures of everything in their place but hopefully I can do that soon.

Holiday

It has been a while since I wrote a message here. But having computer problems and being on holiday had to be blamed for that. But now I'm back, my computer is not functioning properly, it is old and slow and can't cope with much information.... I have to invest in a new one but this will take a while.

In case you wonder were I went for my holiday... This is one of the things I saw, do you recognize it? Yes it is the Sacre coeur in Paris. I was very lucky since there was a market where I could tast al kind of delicious foods and of course I visited the shop of Lea Frisoni... I love her book and the delicate minitures she makes inspire me every time. In the area are a lot of shops with fabric as well and I bought some Toile de jouy fabric to make in a quilt (1:1). Very close to Paris is the small village of Jouy en Josas where I visited a museum about Toile de Jouy fabric. So interesting to learn more about the fabrics that have attracted me for a long time.

I did not only visit shops and markets but also spend some time making stuff. I took with me some kits, mostly from priegelwerk . But some others as well. The little mouse is from a kit by Shirley Scheibehenne, it wasn't easy to make because it is so small and it made my fingers hurt but I do love it. The kit contained two more stuffed animals I can make, but that will have to wait. It is not my favorite work, but the result is good.

Now I have so many boxes, I have to decide where to put them.

A mornings work

With a group of miniature friends we spend a morning making some Tilda inspired items. This is what I made

Welcome new followers and just making some things

Welcome to the new followers Clara, Flor, Christina, Maria, Oiseau di Nim, Cockerina and La belle cuisine,

Today I just made a few books and 2 small clocks for the bedroom. The workshop for the clock I found on the internet. Two of the books are from Papermini the others I found on a dutch site. Just a few hours work and I have books I can read and two clocks like I used to have before modern alarmclocks were available. I've made the clocks from paper, some metal parts and sewing pins.

Now I just have to decide in which room I put the books and clocks. I will probably make some more clocks in different colours. The clocks look a bit old and battered but I quite like them.
